Rugby: Victoria University Wins Varsity 7s Tournament At Kyambogo University

Victoria University (VU) emerged the winner of the Varsity Rugby 7s tournament hosted by Kyambogo University.

VU ousted several universities to claim the victory among them including Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Nkumba University, ISBAT University, MUBS, UCU and UMU.

Below Is How VU Rugby Team ‘Punished’ The Other Universities

VU’s triumph not only reflects their exceptional rugby prowess but also their dedication to the sport. The University is also celebrated in other sporting fields like; football, netball and volleyball.

Reacting to the above victory, Victoria University Vice Chancellor Prof Lawrence Muganga appreciated his team’s performance.

”In the realm of rugby, Victoria University claimed victory in the Rugby 7s tournament hosted by Kyambogo University, displaying a dominant performance that left other universities humbled. I am incredibly proud of the team,” tweeted Muganga.

With ten universities participating, the Varsity 7s series has grown to become a significant sporting event on the Ugandan university sports calendar. Divided into four circuits, this tournament showcases the raw talent and unwavering spirit of young rugby players.

The tournament brings together young rugby enthusiasts from various universities, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills and passion for the game.
