Tragic Loss: 12-Year-Old Allegedly Beheaded By Mother In Bombo Town

A mother is currently detained following the alleged beheading of her 12-year-old daughter in her rented room in Mpakawero zone, Bombo Town Council, Luweero District

The Mayor of Bombo Town, Mr. Osman Kassim Ramathan, confirmed the horrifying event at Mpakawero zone on Monday afternoon and stated that the suspect was undergoing questioning.

He expressed his shock and the trauma experienced by the children who witnessed their mother take the life of their sister, despite her pleas for mercy. The incident has left the community and its leaders at a loss for words.

At the time of reporting, the police had not yet issued a statement. However, Mr. San Twineamazima, the Spokesperson for the Savannah Region Police, confirmed that crime scene investigators were collecting more information.

The deceased, identified as Lina Kawonawo, was a Primary Six Pupil at Bombo Common Primary School in Bombo Town Council.

According to neighbors, the horrific act occurred around 6:30 am. Upon hearing the victim’s cries for help, residents forced open the door, only to find the woman holding her daughter’s severed head. Some community members speculated on Monday that the woman may have been suffering from a mental disorder prior to the tragic event.
