Yusuf Kamuhanda, a businessman from Bukomansimbi, met a tragic end outside his family home in Kisaaba Village, Kigangazi Town Council over the weekend. The 30-year-old’s murder has sent shockwaves through the village.
In the morning, Kamuhanda’s wife discovered his body. She recounts, “As I was heading to the garden around 8am, I tripped over my husband’s lifeless body, lying in a pool of blood.”
Kamuhanda’s wife told our reporter that her husband(deceased) received a call from an unidentified person. Despite her stopping him to leave, Kamuhanda decided to meet the caller.
She recalls, “I tried to stop him, but he didn’t listen. He took his motorcycle and rode off into the night, but he never came back.”
According to the police, Kamuhanda was struck on the head with a sharp object. His motorcycle was later found abandoned nearby.
In response to the incident, Kigangazi’s mayor, Yasin Kawuma, appealed to the community to be more vigilant and called on law enforcement agencies to step up their efforts to curb illegal activities, especially in local bars.
The police have promised swift action in response to the incident. The regional police spokesperson, Twaha Kasirye, confirmed that an investigation is underway.
