Khalayi made the remarks during a meeting with a cooperative group of over 100 women in Lwakhakha Town Council that saw her actually also becoming a member.

“Yes it’s true I became a member of that cooperative group. I am thrilled to be among such an impressive group of women who embody the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and resilience,” said Khalayi adding:

“As an upcoming woman in politics, I understand the challenges we face in a world where gender equality is still a work in progress. But I also know the power of women coming together to create change. The cooperative group is a shining example of what can be achieved when women support each other, share resources, and lift each other up.”

Khalayi says she’s committed to creating policies and programs that empower women entrepreneurs, address the gender pay gap, and promote gender equality in all spheres of life. “But I know that true change happens from the ground up, and that’s why this cooperative group’s work so inspires me.”

She noted that after the meeting, she realized that the cooperative group is not just a business venture but a movement and it’s a testament to the power of women’s collective action and a reminder that when they work together, they can achieve anything.

Khalayi urged the women in Namisindwa to work together and continue to support each other, to break down barriers, and to create opportunities for growth and development.

“Let us celebrate our successes and learn from our setbacks. And let us never forget that we are the leaders we have been waiting for,” Khalayi told the women during the meeting.

Just like any other visionary leader, Khalayi urges that the country needs to;

  • Acknowledge the challenges women face
  • Emphasize the power of women coming together
  • Highlight the importance of collective action
  • Commit to creating policies and programs that support women entrepreneurs and gender equality
  • Celebrate the successes of the cooperative groups
  • Encourage continued support and collaboration.

She made it clear that as she goes to represent Namisindwa in Parliament come 2026 victory, she will prioritize major concerns affecting her people but also restlessly push for women empowerment.

Khalayi believes that empowered citizenry is always capable of taking actions and make decisions that positively affect their own lives and the collective well-being and prosperity of the country.
