Breaking the Record; Erling Haaland makes history in Premier League as the fastest player to 100 goals and assists

Erling Haaland continues to break records, and during Manchester City’s 2-2 draw against Brighton on Saturday, he achieved yet another milestone. The prolific forward became the fastest player to reach 100 goal involvements in the Premier League, surpassing the long-standing record set by Premier League legend Alan Shearer.

Haaland, at 24 years old, reached the remarkable feat in just 94 matches—six games faster than Shearer’s previous record—with 84 goals and 16 assists.

While it has been a disappointing season for Haaland’s Manchester City, who currently sit in fifth place and have struggled to find form, the Norwegian striker has maintained his exceptional goal-scoring rate. In just 28 Premier League appearances this season, he has scored 21 goals and provided three assists.

In his debut season with City, Haaland scored 36 goals, breaking the previous single-season record of 34 goals, which was held by both Shearer and Andy Cole. He also became the fastest player to reach 50 goals, accomplishing the feat in just 48 games.

Alan Shearer, speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, acknowledged that he was unaware he previously held the goal involvements record, but he expressed admiration for Haaland’s remarkable achievement.
