Jimmy Akena, leader of the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC), has boldly declared his intention to defeat President Yoweri Museveni in the 2026 general election. Confident and determined, Akena vows to bring about a new era of leadership focused on the well-being of Ugandans.
Speaking to enthusiastic crowds in Dokolo District and Angwecibange Primary School, Akena emphasized that his campaign is built on ideas, not intimidation. He envisions a Uganda where hospitals have medicine, youth have jobs, and the government prioritizes its citizens’ needs over military interventions in neighboring countries.
Akena’s leadership philosophy is centered around collaboration and people-focused policies. This is not a one-man job. We need doctors, teachers, and engineers working together—not just soldiers being sent everywhere except where they are needed most,” he remarked.
With a bold vision and fearless spirit, Akena is ready to take on the challenge of leading Uganda. His message is clear: in 2026, he’s coming for the State House seat, and President Museveni might need to consider a new retirement plan.
