“If You Beat Me, I’ll Quit Politics” Bobi Wine Angrily Reponds To Gen Muhoozi’s Boxing Challenge

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces and son of President Yoweri Museveni, has issued a fresh threat against National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine. On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Muhoozi took to his X page, @mkainerugaba, and posted a provocative message, saying, “Tell Kabobi I didn’t beat him enough in Arua! I’m coming for him again. This time I’ll beat him properly”.

This isn’t the first time Muhoozi has threatened Bobi Wine. In January 2025, Muhoozi posted a series of threatening messages, including one that said he would “behead” Bobi Wine if his father, President Museveni, wasn’t protecting him.

Bobi Wine has responded to Muhoozi’s latest threat, saying, “Challenge accepted! If you beat me I’ll quit politics and if I beat you, you quit alcohol. Say when and I’ll say where.” This exchange highlights the ongoing tensions between the ruling party and the opposition in Uganda.
