Bobi Wine and Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba have agreed to settle their differences in a boxing match This unexpected turn of events comes after Gen Muhoozi, the Chief of Defence Forces and President Yoweri Museveni’s son, issued a series of threatening tweets aimed at Bobi Wine, including remarks about ending his life.
Gen Muhoozi, known for his provocative tweets, challenged Bobi Wine to a boxing match, saying “Killing Kabobi is an easy job! Very easy. He says he likes boxing. I invite him to a boxing match”.
Bobi Wine, the leader of the National Unity Platform, accepted the challenge, but on certain conditions. He stated that if he loses, he’ll exit politics, and if Gen Muhoozi loses, he should give up alcohol.
The boxing match, if it happens, would be an unprecedented event in Ugandan politics. Bobi Wine, a former professional boxer, still engages in the sport for leisure.
The Uganda Boxing Federation has expressed support for the match, suggesting it be held at Namboole Stadium with foreign referees.
It’s worth noting that Gen Muhoozi’s tweets have sparked controversy in the past, and this latest development has left many wondering if the boxing match will actually take place.
