Meet Khalayi Peace Simiyu, Namisindwa’s Favorite Candidate Vowing To Scoop Woman MP Seat In 2026

The electoral season is gaining momentum with several capable and young leaders joining the race. Among these include; Khalayi Peace who has already declared her candidacy for Namisindwa woman MP seat.

For starters, it’s worth letting you know the meaning of this honourable’s names;

Khalayi-means good person while Peace-means freedom, which makes it clear that once elected, Khalayi will use her good personality to secure ‘economical & social freedom’ of all the people of Namisindwa.

In a brief interaction with our reporter in Namisindwa, Khalayi a staunch supporter & mobilizer of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) said she aspires to utilize her skills, experiences, and leadership abilities to represent the people of Namisindwa District as a Member of Parliament.  Story continues after ad

”Committed to transparency, accountability, and effective governance, I aim to address the pressing issues facing our district and work towards its development and progress while aligned with the priorities of the national government under NRM,”’ says Khalayi.

Khalayi a passionate and dedicated leader committed to serving the community and fostering positive change has a strong background in procurement and supply chain management.

The Hon MP to be also finds it befitting to share the little she has with others, this can be backed up by the number of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives she has engaged in with in Namisindwa.

”As an individual, I cannot do much hence jumping onto my political career where I will get the opportunity to lobby for different services for my people.

”Namisindwa being a new district of over 7 years we have elected women MPs who are not born in Namisindwa but rather married within Namisindwa. This time round we have our daughters that are rising up in the political arena, this therefore has created enough support from the locals. It is time we embraced young leadership,” added Khalayi who is also an active member of the Rotaract Club of Nakawa MUBS where she has engaged in several community service projects, leadership development activities, and fundraising efforts.

What You Must Know About Dedicated Leader Khalayi

Khalayi, was born in the Namisindwa district where she has employed different groups of people within the district hence improving their standards of living, this is through various businesses she owns like a poultry farm and believes that with time it will be a big project that will be employing thousands of people.

Hon Kyalayi was raised in a family deeply built on a strong foundation of ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). As a matter of fact, her father Mr Simiyu Sam is NRM’s party’s general secretary & party chairman Lwakhakwa town council and as a result of this, Khalayi has participated in various party activities, including campaign rallies, door-to-door mobilization and voter education initiatives.

In her political experience, Khalayi an active member of the mighty party NRM also is a member of the NRM Women’s League structures at village level acting as the secretary. She has engaged with party leadership and fellow members to contribute ideas and strategies for party development and electoral success.

She has also participated in NRM Voter Registration Updates over the years and led local campaign strategy development, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and voter outreach efforts.

Also, Khalayi has coordinated local campaign events, visibility-poster display, and communication with constituents, all to ensure no wind ever shakes her party NRM.

She has organized local community youth meetings, forums, and outreach programs to promote civic participation and community development through Khalayi Charity Foundation. In fact, through this very organization, she has engaged with several women groups and supported them in their different capacities.

In the health sector, she has partnered with different people to provide necessities to Namisindwa residents in different health care facilities.

”Through African Construction Technicians, we prioritize our people with in Namisindwa while awarding contracts or jobs which has in the long run improved their livelihoods,” said Khalayi.

She works with African Construction as a Procurement Officer and is one of the Company Directors. The company has worked within the district taking over several projects like schools, health centers, and roads among others hence improving the standards of living of the people it employs. 

Khalayi holds a bachelor of science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Makerere University Business School (August 2018 – January 2022). She has served in other big offices including being an Assistant Procurement Officer (2021 – 2022) at National Drug Authority,

The people of Namisindwa are ready to support their own daughter depending on the wise leadership and the political background of her forefathers, just as the saying goes an elephant gives birth to an elephant.

Meanwhile as a believer, Khalayi stands on the fact that leadership comes from God.
