In an effort to preserve and celebrate Uganda’s rich cultural heritage, Enzikiriza Y’obuwangwa N’ennono, Tondism Faith has announced an exciting cultural festival set to bring together music, dance, traditional regalia, and arts. The event, dubbed “Kampala Tuzze Cultural Fest,” will take place on November 10, 2024, at New Club Obligato in Wandegeya, Kampala, and is organized in partnership with the Kasiko Mutaasa Development Foundation (KMDF) and Nyumya Media.
The festival will feature a series of activities designed to not only entertain but also educate attendees about Uganda’s and Africa’s diverse cultures. According to Jjumba Lubowa Aligaweesa, the Universal High Priest of Tondism Faith, the event is set to be a cultural extravaganza with performances from various cultural musicians, musical battles, poetry recitals, arts exhibitions, and the launch of cultural books and publications. Attendees will also be treated to a showcase of traditional attires and regalia, highlighting the richness of African culture.
“This event is designed to promote cultural unity and appreciation. People from all backgrounds are encouraged to participate and proudly wear their traditional attire. It is a celebration of diversity that aims to bring together different African cultures under one roof,” Jjumba said while addressing reporters at the Faith’s headquarters in Kirowooza village, Mukono district.
The festival is expected to start at 2 PM and will host a variety of performers who will bring Uganda’s cultural heritage to life through music and dance. The organizers emphasize that the event will not disintegrate any particular culture, but rather offer a platform for people to celebrate and embrace their unique cultural identities.
Sponsors of the festival include prominent names such as Kasiko Mutaasa Development Foundation (KMDF), Kulanama Products, Nyumya Media, Vva Mubusibe, Agali Awamu SACCO, ENNONO TV, SK7 MEDIA, FP Electronics, and several others, all contributing to the success of this landmark event.
Through this festival, Kampala Tuzze aims to create a sense of community, encouraging Ugandans and Africans at large to preserve their traditions while embracing the evolving landscape of cultural expression. It stands as an opportunity to reconnect with African roots, offering a space where the beauty of music, dance, and the arts come together to foster cultural pride and unity.
