Ntare School and Parental Care Nursery & Primary School, Bushenyi, have etched their names into the annals of debate history, claiming prestigious victories at the 2024 National Speech and Debate Championship. The event, held on December 12th, 2024, at the main auditorium of King’s College Budo in Kampala, was organized by the National Debate Council, Uganda (NDC).
Ntare School Triumphs in Senior Debate
In the senior category, Ntare School secured its third national title in commanding fashion, defeating Holy Cross Lake View with a resounding 10:1 victory. This impressive win places Ntare in an exclusive group of schools that have redefined excellence in the art of debate. Their dominance throughout the competition was undeniable, showcasing a team that was not only well-prepared but also masterful in delivery and argumentation.
The final debate was a showcase of brilliance, with Ntare’s team demonstrating an exceptional grasp of the motion and dismantling their opponents’ arguments with precision. Their seamless execution of strategy, eloquent speeches, and sharp rebuttals left no room for doubt, solidifying their place as national champions. Parental Care Nursery & Primary School Defends Junior Title
Meanwhile, in the junior category, Parental Care Nursery & Primary School, Bushenyi, defended their title in the 4th National Junior Speech and Debate Championship, securing a thrilling victory against Mbarara Municipal School. Having triumphed in 2023, Parental Care’s performance this year reaffirmed their status as one of the top contenders in junior debate.
In the intense finals, the team from Parental Care demonstrated their expertise in a compelling debate on the future of learning. With a strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, they stood firm in their belief that these fields are key to preparing future generations for the challenges ahead. Their passionate arguments and clear, well-structured speeches made them formidable opponents in the competition.
Ashaba Isiah Shines as Best Speaker
Adding to Parental Care’s triumph, Ashaba Isiah of Parental Care Nursery & Primary School was named the Best Speaker of the Championships. His articulate and persuasive speeches played a significant role in the school’s victory, highlighting his exceptional talent and potential in the field of public speaking and debate.
