The Parish Development Model (PDM) continues to empower Ugandans at the grassroots level, enabling households to engage in productive enterprises, increase incomes, and improve their livelihoods.
Among the beneficiaries making remarkable progress is Mr. Kasule Noah Pasha, a resident of Kibuka Village, Bukembe Parish, Nsinze Town Council, Namutumba Di5strict. Upon receiving UGX 1 million under the PDM programme, he invested the funds in poultry farming, a venture that has since become a reliable source of income for his household.
Through hard work, proper planning, and effective management of resources, Mr. Kasule has successfully expanded his poultry enterprise. The profits generated from the project have enabled him to reinvest and diversify his agricultural activities, demonstrating the importance of prudent utilization of government support.
Building on the success of his poultry business, Mr. Kasule acquired an exotic calf, marking his transition into mixed farming. This strategic investment has strengthened the sustainability of his enterprise and positioned him for greater economic growth through diversified income streams.
Mr. Kasule’s journey is a clear demonstration of the transformative impact of the Parish Development Model. His success reflects the programme’s objectives of promoting wealth creation, enhancing household incomes, and lifting communities out of poverty through sustainable economic activities.
Despite the significant progress made, Mr. Kasule continues to face several challenges, including the high cost of poultry feeds, disease outbreaks, limited access to veterinary services, fluctuating market prices, and inadequate capital for further expansion. These challenges underscore the need for continued technical support, affordable agricultural inputs, improved veterinary services, and stronger market linkages to ensure the long-term success of beneficiary enterprises.
Today, Mr. Kasule Noah Pasha stands as an inspiring example of how the effective utilization of PDM funds can transform lives, promote self-reliance, and contribute to socio-economic development at the community level. His story serves as encouragement to other beneficiaries to invest wisely, work diligently, and take advantage of opportunities provided through government empowerment programmes.
